With Spring just around the corner, its time to start our Spring Cleaning. I’m already feeling the desire to get outside more and lighten my diet… Salads are easier to eat, I’m definitely feeling more inspired about fresh cooling foods again, so now its definitely time to add more Raw.
We wanted to check in and see what some of the “celebrities” in the Raw Food World recommend when it comes to adding more Raw….here’s what they have to say!
We love Kris Carr and we just love her philosophy on life, love and food…
She’s a New York Times best-selling author, motivational speaker and wellness activist. Back in 2003, she directed and starred in Crazy Sexy Cancer, an inspirational documentary for TLC that chronicled her journey from cancer diagnosis to juicy healthy living. She also wrote Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips and Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor, two must-have manuals for triumphing over disease and embracing a holistic approach to recovery. Kris Carr’s wake-up call encouraged her to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out. This extraordinary journey led her to turn the stress down and the joy factor up. It brought her back to nature, the garden and the people (and animals!) who fuel her spirit each day. (extract from hayhouse.com.au)
She freely admits she’s not 100% Raw but has some amazing tips on how to add more Raw to your diet… Check out what she has to say.. its such useful information.
Kimberly Snyder, Nutritionist for the Mind, Body & Soul
And the New York Times best-selling author of The Beauty Detox Solution, The Beauty Detox Foods and The Beauty Detox Power has some great tips to add more Raw. Here’s an extract from her book (which I just love!) to get you back on track in time for spring…
And of course you already know we are a little biased towards this guy… Matthew Kenney.
Graduated from the French Culinary Institute and, after working in upscale New York City kitchens, opened a number of his own highly regarded restaurants in New York and along the East Coast. He has earned several awards, including being named one of America’s Best New Chefs by Food and Wine Magazine and was twice nominated as a Rising Star Chef in America by the James Beard Foundation. Kenney has appeared on numerous food and talk shows, and regularly lectures on the subject of food and health, including a highly watched TEDx talk in 2011 (extract from matthewkenneycuisine.com).
