7-Day Detox – A Week of Healthy Raw Plant-Based Food

If you have been feeling run down and not as healthy as you normally do, maybe it’s time for a raw plant-based 7-day Detox. Every now and then, the body needs a restart, or do over, especially if you have not been eating well. If you have not been eating a raw food plant-based diet on a regular basis, this detox can do you some good.

Detoxing is necessary if you have toxin build-up in your system. Toxins can make their way into the body through pesticides present in our fruits and vegetables when you are not using organic plants, as well as through pollutants that are in the air we breath. We may even be taking in toxins from our chemically scented detergents and fabric softeners. Additionally, if you are new to raw plant-based foods, and have been eating a traditional diet with refined processed foods, you will be surprised at how different you will feel after your 7-day detox.

2 Important Benefits of a Raw Plant-Based 7-Day Detox

A week long raw food detox will give your body the nutrients it needs, as well as keep out the foods that are adding toxins to your body. This type of detox will eliminate impurities from your body, leaving what the body needs, not what damages it. Sounds good so far? A raw plant-based detox can provide many benefits, but here are two that seem to be the most popular:

Detoxing Encourages Weight Loss

Foods with lots of water help you feel full with fewer calories, and less likely to reach for more food too soon. It’s clear that diets high in plants promote weight loss. Some plant-based foods that have a high water content are watermelon, cucumber, strawberries, and pineapple. In addition, a plant-based detox would typically consist of fiber rich foods. Fiber provides bulk to your diet, therefore, you feel full with fewer calories. Fewer calories equal weight loss! Plants that are high in fiber include split peas, artichokes, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and pears.

Processed refined foods will make you feel full with a lot of calories. Furthermore, losing weight by detoxing with healthy delicious plant-based foods is more enjoyable than starving yourself, or taking diet pills that may have side effects.

Detoxing Will Give You Energy You Didn’t Know You Had

Our bodies were made to naturally detox using our organs, such as the skin, lungs, liver, and kidneys. When you have taken in too many toxins, heavy metals and other contaminants, your body has to work overtime to keep your body clean and safe. Overworking your body will lead to low energy. Doing a 7-day detox with raw plant-based foods will make things easier on your body, reserving energy for you to feel your best. Additionally, detoxing with plants will provide you with antioxidants and other nutrients that actually provide energy. After doing this 7-day detox, you won’t believe all the energy you have been missing out on.
